Public Enterprise "Serbian Post" has built Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Certification Authority (CA) and Time-Stamping Authority (TSA) and it is presented in public by the name of Serbian Post Certification Authority. The electronic (digital) certificates and time-stamps of the Serbian Post Certification Authority are intended for all participants of electronic business in the Republic of Serbia, regardless of whether they are legal or natural persons.
Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications licensed the Serbian Post Certification Authority for issuing of qualified electronic certificates in accordance with Serbian Law on electronic document, electronic identification and trust services in the electronic commerce ("Official Journal of the Republic of Serbia", no. 94/2017 and 52/2021).
Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications licensed the Serbian Post Certification Authority for issuing of time-stamps in accordance with Serbian Law on electronic document, electronic identification and trust services in the electronic commerce ("Official Journal of the Republic of Serbia", no. 94/2017 and 52/2021) and RFC 3161 "Internet X.509 Public Key Infrastructure Time-Stamp Protocol (TSP)".
Serbian Post Certification Authority issues the following categories of electronic certificates:
- Qualified certificate for electronic signature,
- Qualified certificate for electronic seal,
- Certificate for authentication and encryption,
- Server certificate for electronic signature,
- TSA certificate for Timestamp server.
Qualified certificates for electronic signature and seal are standard X.509 version 3 certificates, which can be used for creation and validation of qualified electronic signature and seal, according to Serbian Law on electronic document, electronic identification and trust services in the electronic commerce ("Official Journal of the Republic of Serbia", no. 94/2017 and 52/2021).
Certificates for authentication and encryption are standard X.509 version 3 certificates which can be used within the scope of Microsoft applications (Internet Explorer, Outlook, Outlook Express, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and others) and applications of others vendors (Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird, Adobe Acrobat and Reader, OpenOffice Writer and others) for authentication, encryption/decryption and creation/validation of electronic signatures of files, e-mails and transactions.
Server certificates for electronic signature are standard X.509 version 3 certificates which can be used for creation and validation of electronic signature of electronic documents and transactions. Server certificate for electronic signature contains server name in the "Subject Common Name" certificate field.
TSA certificates for Timestamp servers are standard X.509 version 3 certificates which can be used for creation and validation of electronic signature of time-stamp tokens.
